Happy Bank Holiday Girlies & Some Cheeky All Saints Purchases... ♥

Hey girls! - Hope you're all having a fabulous Bank Holiday Weekend, that's if you're in the UK :).. The weather hasn't been too great up North and I've been working all weekend, hence the lack of posts, but I'm off out tonight with the girls for well deserved drinkies, so I will hopefully do a OOTN for you all to have a quick peek!

I also thought I'd let all you lovelies know that All Saints have a Bank Holiday promotion running for the weekend - 25% off everything online!

I just had to take advantage of this and ordered myself a couple of things...

This long sleeved cropped jumper - Perfect to wear during the summer with jeggings or shorts - £45 reduced from £60

I also got this vest, pretty simple really but All Saints vests are perfect for me as they're quite long (I'm fairly tall - Almost 5'9) - This was £22.50 from £30

No doubt they'll be popping up in some OOTD's soon! - What do you think? Have you taken advantage of any fabby offers this weekend?

Products I'm Loving ...♥

Good evening lovely ladies, I hope you're all as fabulous as ever :)

I thought I'd do a quick post on products I'm loving at the minute, a lot of these are to do with summer and getting your skin in tip top, silky smooth condition with a few other things thrown in for good measure hehe!

Here is a collective photo of my fave goodies!

From left to right we have...

- Imperial Leather Skin Bliss Unique Shower Lotion - 'Renew' with Monoi Oil -

This new concept in cleansing claims to have moisture lock technology, leaving your skin feeling smoother after just 5 washes. The lotion, once you squeeze it out onto your sponge/loofah, almost looks like an everyday moisturiser, but once moistened it works it's self into a gorgeous creamy lather. Once you've rinsed yourself down your skin is left feeling super soft and delicate feminine scent is left on your skin. Overall I highly rate this product, not only does it smell great, leave your skin feeling hydrated and soft, but if you can believe it, I managed to pick this up in my local Asda for a mere 70p!

- Maybelline Moisture Extreme 'Naked Beige Collection' Lipstick in Luminous Beige (742) -

I picked up this lippie a couple of weeks ago from Superdrug. I was on the quest for a moisturising everyday nude that would be super easy to wear, for me I have naturally pale skin but wear fake tan most of the time, however, I wanted something which would look good whilst I was tanned but also if I chose to go Au natural! To be honest, I think I found the perfect product for what I was after. As you can see in the photo it has a slight sheen to it, which makes it super smoothing on your lips, it feels like you're wearing a balm! - The colour is fabulous for everyday wear and it cost around £6 so all in all a fab buy! - Would definitely repurchase :)

- Jergens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser -

Again, another Superdrug purchase [I really can't help myself...] This is the first Jergens product I've used, and I'm totally impressed! Summer is almost upon us and so the pins will be making an appearance in the not too distant future! - I thought this would be a good place to start, as it's hydrating as well as giving your skin a firmer appearance. The lotion has a pleasant delicate smell, nothing too over the top and is not too thick, heavy or gloopy. I've been applying it at night before bed and have really noticed a massive difference in not just the appearance of my skin, but the feel of it too. It's available from Superdrug or any chemist/drugstore for £4.99 and I highly recommend it ladies :)

- St Ives Body Polish - Smoothing -

Going along with the theme of summer, this is another product I've been using to get my skin summer worthy! This is a sugar crystal polish, so is gentle on the skin yet leaving it feeling ultra smooth and dry skin free - Always a good thing! I've been using this every other day in the shower and this, along with the Jergens Moisturiser has left my legs looking the best they have for a long time.

- Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze -

I've been using this bronzer from Rimmel for absolute yearsss! I tried it, loved it and kept repurchasing... It's a fab matte bronzer which is great for all over your face, down your neck to blend and I also sweep it across my decolletage and upper chest if I'm wearing a strapless top or summery dress. It's by far one of my favourite drugstore make-up products and something which I know I'll keep repurchasing for years to come. Why spoil a good thing!?

- St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist -

I know, I know... Not another lover of St. Moriz, but yes! I absolutely swear by it. Being a redhead and having naturally pale, freckly skin I have tried literally EVERY fake tan going! - To the extent where I have a huge wicker linen basket almost full the brim of different brands! However, after discovering the delights of St. Moriz I honestly don't think I'd ever find the need to buy a different one. I won't bore you with the details of what the tan is like, as the whole blogging world seems to have done this, but if you're pale like me and have been worried about trying this, then don't be, it's amazing and will work with just about every skin tone imaginable!

- MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre -

I have to admit, before buying this I'd never bought into the idea of using an eye primer. However, after hearing so much about MAC's paintpots I decided to try this one in Soft Ochre. It's of a beige, skin coloured tone and you basically just apply it after your foundation all over your lids before you apply your eye shadow. I've been using it everyday for the last week and I have to admit I absolutely love it and would 100% recommend it's use. It has kept my eye shadow looking exactly the same at 9pm as it did when I applied it at 9am, which is a massive feat! I've been super impressed, and so would defiantely recommend and repurchase!

- VO5 Extreme Style [SurfStyle] - Texturising Sea Salt Spray -

This spray claims to deliver 'Matte effect, beach blown volume & waves' and I have to say I fully agree! I've been using this on towel dried hair on evenings where I really can't be bothered to blow dry it. I spray it into my hair then twist it up into a bun on the top of my head then I sleep on it. By the morning my hair has dried and the spray has left it with loose beachy style hair which I then give a quick spray over with hair spray and I'm good to go! I've also used it on my hair when it's been dry, but in desperate need of a little pick me up,  you spritz it all over your hair as before, but then scrunch and twist to your hearts content! - All in all I think this is going to be one of my products of the summer, the texture it adds and the result you're left with is amazing for not having to use any heat on it, which in the summer is a total bonus! - This would also be a fabby product to take away on your hols to give you that tousled beach babe look :)

So there we have it! My current favourites...
Are any of these in your *favourites*?

OOTD and *50 Followers!*...

Hello all my lovelies!

So I was rather excited when I logged on yesterday to find I had not 50, but 52 followers! - I'm so pleased that you all follow and enjoy my ramblings! I never could have imagined that I'd get this many followers (ever!) let alone in the short 4 weeks that I've been blogging! - So a massive thank you to you all and a huge hello to all of my new followers :)

I'm hoping to get out and about at the weekend and put together a small giveaway; I'm thinking of putting together a few products that I'm really loving at the minute, so the winner can enjoy them too! - So keep checking back for that, like I said it'll probably be around the weekend when I get round to hitting the shops!

On another note, yesterday myself and my boyfriend enjoyed a rare day off together and so decided to visit The Alnwick Garden - It's only about a 40 minute drive from where we live and has the largest Tree house in the world built inside, with a restaurant inside it where we had a rather yummy lunch!

So I thought I'd do a OOTD for yesterday to show you all what I wore for our day out :) - It was a little chilly so the boots were back out, didn't want to risk wearing sandals, having to walk around all day and then have the risk of rain! - Excuse the cheesy cheesy grin!

From top to bottom:

Scarf - Vintage (as before! hehe I'm loving it right now)
Cropped Denim Jacket - Kookai
Oversized Loose Knit Jumper - Topshop
Peachy top (underneath) - H&M
Leggings - H&M
Boots - Vintage (The Clothes Show)
Bag - Mulberry Bayswater (Again I know! - But Oh so practical!)

Hope you all like it, and forgive me for repeating my scarf and bag hehe!

Hope you're all having a lovely week :)

Much loveeee Xxx

Long Overdue Review: Elf

So as you all know, from a previous post I made an order with Elf after hearing so many positives about the company. Elf pride themselves on offering great quality makeup at an affordable price, meaning every woman has the opportunity to look as beautiful and as glamorous as she so pleases :)

I’ve been using the products since I last posted about my haul and I thought it was high time I let my readers in on my thoughts about the individual items. I’ll firstly start out saying that I have a combination skin type, with my T-Zone being a little oily but the rest of my face being normal/dry.

The All Over Cover Stick - Lilac Petal & The All Over Cover Stick – Spotlight

I bought both of these products on the basis that I quite like crème based products for my cheeks i.e. crème blushes and also for highlighting. Both of the products come in a small cylinder shaped tube which you pop the top off and then twist up until there is enough product on show to adequately apply to your face – they also both have a gorgeous scent to them, which Elf call ‘Sugar Orange’, I’m not normally a fan of overly scented products but it’s such a subtle sweet summery smell and it instantly put a smile on your face when you smell it, which has to be good!

The Lilac Petal is almost a crème blush but in a stick format – I’ve been using this on the apples of my cheeks to give a nice fresh rosy appearance. Because it has some shimmer in it you end up with a really dewy, glowing finish – Super pretty for summer! I have been applying straight from the stick by dabbing it over my cheeks and then blending it with my ring finger – There has been absolutely no caking of the product whatsoever and like I say I’m really pleased with the dewy, fresh look that it leaves me with.

I’ve also been similarly impressed with the Spotlight highlighter, which I’ve been using along my cheek bones, slightly up onto my temples, a fraction on my nose, forehead and chin and then also as a brow bone highlighter. Again, I’ve been applying this direct to my skin from the tube and then blending, with the exception of on my brow bone of course! This highlighter leaves you again with a gorgeous glowy look, which is absolutely perfect for summer. I’ve even worn this on my skin without any foundation just to give it a bit of radiance, when I didn’t necessarily want a whole face of makeup.

The All Over Cover Stick - Apricot Beige

This cover stick is more a concealer than anything; I’ve been using it in conjunction with a concealer brush to cover up any blemishes I may have had. Again, like the other two cover sticks, I have found no problem with cakey appearance once it has been blended in correctly. It is a lovely creamy consistency, which offers great coverage. It blended really well into my skin and Studio Fix Fluid – I had worries that it would not match well and look a total different colour, but my worries went out the window after actually trying it out :)

*All of the Cover Sticks are such a perfect size to slip into your everyday makeup bag for touch-ups etc – I would definitely repurchase all 3*

Corrective Concealer

I have to say, in all honesty, this was the product I was most looking forward to receiving. I love the idea of using different toned concealers to hide or mask irregularities in skin tone, or surface blemishes. I thought, after using the L’Oreal Studio Secrets corrective primers that I would be won over and love this product. However, unfortunately this was not the case... The product which as you can see, comes with two different concealer tones and then the green (anti-redness) and the pink (anti-dullness/sallow skin) , just didn’t do it for me. I felt that even using my own concealer brush, (the one they provide you with is tiny and of no use at all – Not that I was expecting any other) I could not get enough product (green/pink) onto the brush. It kept coming off in really thin, fine layers, was fairly dry and had lost all colour, so by the time you had applied it to your face it left you with no colour pay off which consequently meant that the blemish or area you wished to ‘correct’ looked exactly the same.

The swatches are about 4/5 layers of each colour - Just wouldn't show up otherwise!

The actual concealers for my skin tone, were just too dark – but you don’t get the option of choosing different toned concealers?? .. Never mind, this is possibly an area where Elf could expand on, firstly improve the formula so that it is more of a creamy consistency – making it easier to apply and then secondly making different toned concealers available.

Mineral Powder Foundation – Light

I’m the type of girl who, like most want a flawless medium-full coverage foundation – I find that either of my holy grail foundations are just perfect for me and always give me the result I want, I normally use either MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid in NC15&20 (mixed) or Dior Skin Sculpt. However, I’d never tried a mineral powder foundation and thought it was about time I did. The foundation comes in a medium sized round pot, once opened you can dispense as much or as little product as you desire into the lid and then use a brush, such as a kabuki brush or even Elf’s own flat topped Powder brush - I tried the product with both and actually preferred to use the flat topped one from Elf. I started at the top of my face and worked my way down, working the powder into my eye sockets and around my nose, then finishing off with my chin and blended down into my neck. I didn’t have to use very much product and in the end you’re left with a very natural finish. This for me would be the perfect foundation to use if I was just chilling out at home, having a small trip to the supermarket or on a hangover day where I just want to blend out my blotchy alcohol infused skin and make it look a little more presentable! – After using this mineral foundation, I think it reaffirms in my mind that my usual everyday products are exactly what I should be using for the look I’m after. This said, I think it could be perfect for those who have more of an oily skin tone, as its not adding any more moisture onto the skin and the powdery finish will mean that the oiliness of their skin may be masked to some degree.

Finally [Well done if you've lasted this long!]... The Elf Powder Brush & Kabuki Brush

It has to be said, I think these are my two favourite items which I purchased! Firstly, the powder brush which is made from synthetic hair can be used for both wet and dry products. As I just mentioned previously, I used this to apply the mineral foundation, with a great result, it really does apply well and evenly across the face. It picks up the powder well and doesn’t just ‘dump’ a huge amount onto which ever part of your face you start on. However, my favourite way to use this brush has to be with my usual everyday liquid foundations, most used at the minute has been my MAC SFF. I apply a thin base layer with my foundation brush and then with the remainder of the product on my hand, I dab in the powder brush and then use it to swirl in the foundation and almost stipple it into my skin. This gives the most amazing finish and I can’t get enough of it! It’s truly fabulous and for a mere £3.50 it has become one of my favourite brushes, and is of course used daily!

The kabuki brush, a little more expensive; actually I can’t really say expensive at £5.00! Again, this brush is the anti-bacterial synthetic Taklon hairs. It’s fab at picking up any powder, I use it with blush, bronzer and also highlighter. I cannot emphasise how soft this brush is, it’s truly amazing! Another new favourite brush and it has easily worked its way into my daily routine.

Both brushes have been washed and have had very minimal shedding, literally just one or two strands from each brush. I can’t recommend these brushes highly enough for their quality, price and the finish they deliver! – I will definitely be purchasing more brushes from the Elf Studio Range :)

Ooopsie! Just realised how long I’ve let this post get – I just wanted to give you a full and comprehensive review :) ..

Hope this has helped if you’re thinking of ordering anything from Elf, on the other hand it would be great to hear from you all as to what you’ve already bought and what products are your favourites?

I’m thinking of starting OOTD posts, but unsure – Let me know if you’d like to see them?!

Jewellery With Inspired Kookiness: Eclectic Eccentricity..

Last December I had the pleasure of attending the Clothes Show Live at the Birmingham NEC - After a long drive there from Newcastle myself and the other girlies had a fab day and were introduced to many brands which we had never heard of!

One of the brands I've chosen to share with you special lot is a gorgeous jewellery company which goes by the name of Eclectic Eccentricity :)

After seeing their stand at the Clothes Show I was mesmerised by all of their super pretty, super feminine pieces and thus a love affair ensued!

This was their stand and as you can see it is just absolutley BEA-utiful!

At the time I bought a couple of bits, but since have ordered more from their website, which you can find here

I also thought i'd share with you a few of the bits and pieces which i've bought since December :)

This first one, I thought was just too cute! - A one for the green fingered among us!

This gorgeous Singer Sewing Machine necklace was perfect for me; loving and studying Fashion!

This last one however, has to be my absolute favourite .. Some of you may know, but I lost my Daddy almost 3 years ago when I was 18 and so when I saw this, I just had to have it :) - Both me and my sister have the same one and I also treat one of my best friends to it, as she has been through the same thing...

The company also do super sweet earings like these...

Hope you girlies liked this post and do you have any bits from Eclectic Eccentricity?

Makeup Haul...

It's been my last few weeks at University these past few weeks, well for my second year anyways.. So this week, after spending so much time devoted to getting work completed, I thought it was only right to treat myself to some (cosmetic) retail therapy!

Most things are new purchases, apart from the Studio Fix Fluid (obviously...) but I did end up purchasing it in a different colour, that story will unfold in another blog, however lets get on and see what I've been buying!

As you can see, to the left are two of the L'Oréal Studio Secrets primers; I bought the anti-redness (green one) and the anti-dull (pinky toned one) - After using both, my favourite most definitely has to be the anti-redness, it is amazing at covering up any redness you may have due to blemishes or uneven skin tone. The anti-dull primer is also quite good, I've been using this under my eyes to reduce the appearance of dark circles (below my concealer). Thirdly, you can also see the small glass pot which is the L'Oréal Smoothing Resurfacing primer - This product I have to say I am in LOVE with! It is a souffle consistency, but you only need a small amount, it is super smooth and leaves your skin amazingly soft. It can be worn on it's own to give your skin a glowing healthy appearance, or of course, as I have been using it, underneath my MAC SFF. It keeps my foundation on so well and gives it a professional almost airbrushed look. I got all three primers from Superdrug; the Resurfacing primer is £12.99 and the other two are £9.99 each - They currently have them on a fantastic offer though, buy 2 and get the 3rd free :)

I also picked up the GOSH eyeshadow quad, this one is number 22 Driftwood - They're perfect neutral browns for an everyday wear look and was only £8.50 so I can't complain :) I'd also heard quite a bit about the Benefit creaseless cream shadow/liners and so decided to get this one (Birthday Suit) for £14 - I'm yet to try it out so shall get back to you on that one! - If anyone wants any swatches of colours then just let me know!

The Bourjois Highlighting powder I was lucky enough to pick up for just £1.99! - This was from a makeup stall in our local shopping centre, I just thought it would be perfect for summer evenings to brush across my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose and lightly dusted over my decolletage - Again, I haven't yet tried this so will let you know what I think when it'd been tried and tested. Finally, and yes I realise it's been out for a while and I've been majorly slow on the uptake, I purchased the Maybelline Falsies mascara from ASDA for just £6, so a total bargain! .. I've used this the past few days and found it just amazing for my lashes; separating, lengthening and overall just gives a gorgeous full look - I'll definitely be repurchasing this!

Oooo just realised how long I've let this post get, so sorry for rambling but wanted to share with you what I've been buying :) - Hope you're all well and having a fabulous weekend!

Let me know if you've tried any of the above and what you think of them?

MAC to Continue with *Viva Glam Gaga*...

So we all know about the Viva Glam Collection from MAC and how amazing it is that all proceeds from the collection go to the MAC AIDs Fund who then in turn use it to help support men, women and children living with HIV or AIDs.

I personally love, love LOVE the Viva Glam Gaga - Currently has to be my favourite lipstick for either everyday wear or even on an evening as I find it to be quite buildable, yet not too pink!

Because the collection is limited edition, i've been thinking of stocking up on my fave as everywhere in Newcastle seems to have been sold out of it at some point - Obviously trés popular up here hehe! However, I heard a little bit of exciting news today which made me think twice about going and ordering 6 at once! According to one of the MUA's at MAC in Fenwicks [Newcastle] they are going to be continuing the colour for a WHOLE year :) - Fingers crossed!

I'm not sure about you, but I was very excited to find this out and hopefully by the time they discontinue it, I will have either moved onto something else, or a fabulous new collection will have caught my eye!

How do you rate the Viva Glam Collection? - Which is your favourite?

Lovesss Xx

A super excited THANK YOU!

I basically just wanted to write up a quick blog to say a massive massive..

..to all of my new followers - I jumped from like 7 - 12 just yesterday alone!

This makes me one very happy girlie :)

Hope you keep reading and enjoying..

Product Rave.. L'oréal Perfect Clean Wash

So everyone has seen the adverts and has most likely seen these products in their local Superdrug or Boots.

I've been wanting a bit of a change up within my skin care regime; I'd been using the Proactiv solution, purely based on the fact that it originally worked amazingly well on my skin, keeping all blemishes and spots at bay, meaning I very rarely had breakouts or the odd spot - Fabulous you say? Well yeah, but because their products are tailor made for acne sufferers (I've never had acne, just the occasional spot or stress (UNI) related breakout!) the harsh chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide began over a period of time to dry my skin out terribly, especially around my nose and chin area.

In the last few weeks I've found myself increasingly stressed out with university deadlines and presentations and I found the proactiv just wasn't working any more and I ended up having a very out of character (major) break out on my chin. After reading a little about the Pure Clean range, I thought I'd give it a try out.

The product it's self comes in four different skin types:

- Purifying for Blemish Prone Skin
- Refreshing for Normal/Combination Skin
- Exfoliating for All Skin Types
- Soothing for Dry and Sensitive Skin

Because of the breakout I'd had, I decided to go for the Purifying wash, for blemish prone skin.

The product which has a pleasant smell, is a clear gel which you squeeze out onto the 'scrublet' and then begin to massage into your face. Not a lot of product is needed to achieve a lather, so I found this to be a plus! :)

The wash left my face feeling not only cleansed but super clean and refined. I originally didn't have much faith in the scrublet; it seemed to be just a flimsy piece of rubber with small 'nobbles' which would supposedly exfoliate your skin. However, my initial doubt was replaced with surprise, even after the first time using the wash. It has left my skin so soft and supple :)

I've been using the wash for just over a week now and my breakout has 98% cleared up! - Just been using bio - oil on a night to reduce the redness and dry skin which has been left behind. I would like to add however, that the wash is oil free and enriched with salicylic acid, which I feel over time may dry my skin out, so for this reason I may move onto the Soothing wash for dry/sensitive skin.

Overall though I think it's a fab product and would definitely recommend and repurchase!

Has anyone else had any experience, either good or bad of the Perfect Clean range?

Much loveee Xx

I've so far had all of the products out for a test run, but I shall update you with a mini review of each product when i've had more use out of them and get to see what they're like over a period of time :)

How about you?.. What are your experiences with ELF?

Let's get this blog rolling...

So basically where do I start?! - I'm all new to this, and even after being an avid reader of many other beauty/fashion inspired blogs this is still EXTREMELY nerve wracking!

Firstly, if you're reading this, welcome to my blog! :)

After many months of deliberating over whether to start a blog, I have decided to take the plunge so to speak and so 'The Beauty Sanctum' has been born.

This will be a place, where I will be blogging about products I will be trying and putting to the test. I hope that my insights into products will help my readers and inspire them to try new things and ultimately be 'beautifully confident'! :)

Lots of Love
